this is my second one
these things got many possibilities
and very fun to worth with

when your buying them, make sure
you get extra tips, your not gonna wanna
stop using it!

only thing i watched out for is ink leaks
simply wrap some electrical tape on the bottom of the black piece attached to the
clear tube, and should secure it from leaking in your pocket.. over all its a GOOD product

These markers are old reliable tools that can handle nearly anything you can throw at them except smash ink. Smash has to be thinned down with liquid xylene and only xylene. I’ve had two of these and one empty dope beast ruined because of smash black. I shook the life out of it first then poured the smash ink black in, then I added a little magic black to it and shook the sh*t out of it again and let of settle. The marker warped and the black smash came out like syrup and when I would take off the lid? Black stringy plastic-y ribbons would sort of flake and shred off the cap. It was like a little ink spiderweb and when it landed on you and you touched it? Would look like an ink smear The smash black thinned down even further with magic and NOW Pilot ink has ruined and trashed a brand new empty door cans empty beast marker. Smash needs to be thinned with actual xylene to be able to run it througt anything properly  3 of 5 Stars!

okay, this review goes for the big one and the pocket sized one, the picture is decieving because the body has changed, neither of them leak, the nib that it comes with is crap, but a high flow nib will change that, maybe its the fancy name of the nib or something else but the high flow nibs work,, if you buy one after the date of this review you will notice that your marker has a cool plastic label on the body tube, on the pocket version there is a level meter for easy filling. there is a 1 level then a 2 level then the next level says full i usually fill mine a little lower than the full,,, if you do fill it on full, it will flood the nib and make a mess when you juice the nib, this marker works great if you put smash to the 1 level then garvey to the 2 level, then finish it off with white marsh,,

basically, this marker is a beast, make sure you get some high flow nibs and follow the filling levels

p.s. the small one is way better, and both of them have the sidekick cap system  5 of 5 Stars!

I have to agree with Ryan, this is a great marker.
Many inks will work in it, my fav ink to put in it was the Flowpen Ink.
And its CAN LEAK! But, the only time its EVER leaked on me was when the nib got to juicy. So it flooded the cap a little bit.
But all and all, good marker.  4 of 5 Stars!

I bought the mini-version of this marker, but my review has to do with the pump system:

If you use Smash ink (which is actually paint... but that's neither here nor there), you may want to THIN IT DOWN with some bestine/xylene/your preference of thinner. Smash totally gummed up my works, hardened on the nib, and didn't flow. After some thinner, I'm rocking.

Also, buy some replacement nibs. Mine split and went super soft, barely works the valve any more.

The only leaks I've had from this and the High Solid are from around the nib, which is just from paint settling from a juiced nib. No leaks from the threads, just screw it on hard.  3 of 5 Stars!

awesome idea to put out an empty version of a kick @$$ marker, acknowledging writers' curiosity to flirt with different possibilities.. i can see these things becoming classics already.. my second one is on its way so i def recommend this as a good buy!!  5 of 5 Stars!

these markers are pretty dope i dont know what these guys are talkin about u cant use thick ink in this marker or it will come out streaky..
use a BUNCH of insides of pens..and fill a water bottle more than half with rubbing alchohol and put the pen insides in the bottle..
shake the bottle like crazy every couple hours..
then at the end of the day u should have some crazy ass purple ink!!hard staining and drippy..better than paint...

MONE ONERRR!!!

Four words.... I love these things!!! I didnt run into any problems except the drip issue in the tip of the marker.... Just dont be a dumb@ss like me and fill one with latex paint.(bought the wrong kind)
My suggestion is silver Rusto (4 parts)
Paint thinner (1 part)
Dot 3 brake fluid (1 part)

Oh! And when you go to take the top off to fill it, DONT LOSE the mixing balls, as they WILL fall down the drain. just use a strainer to catch them.

Peace,

I like the way they drip but don\'t like the direction they drip in. Problem is when you have the marker angled and push on the nib, the ink will collect on the lowermost lip of the nib holder and drip on the ground.

I modified mine by slowly heating up the four edges of the tip holder and pushing the molten plastic in a bit so it makes more of a seal against the face of the nib. This will make the ink soak into the nib better.

I also recommend putting a little acetone in any alcohol-based paints or thick inks in order to get them to flow a little better. I use this thick-ass specialty calligraphy ink. A 1oz bottle of it is so thick I can dilute it with 2 oz. of acetone before the purple ink stops going on so thick it looks black!

(ap reply) Now that is a good review! This is some mad scientist writer tip. You obviously are a doer and thinker. you get the gold star.  3 of 5 Stars!

i personally wasn\'t very satisfied.

the drips are sh*t. not are the sh*t. don\'t get it twisted.

be careful when refilling it. because if you get paint on the screw part like i did then it glues it on and its a mother to take it off to refill again.

i might just have to buy a new one.

if your looking for a good marker to put on a quick wrist stall. then go with a mop.

AP Reply: If you are looking for drips go with the Art Primo Drip Mop  2 of 5 Stars!

They're just ok... I'm personally getting sick of that kind of nib that comes with them and all those OTR markers. They just don't flow the way they should especially if your using paint. I had this marker rigged up with some Chrome Grog...It wasn't the greatest duo thats all I'm going to say. If your going to get this marker I'd say get some nice staining black red or blue ink..ya know something thats dark..that should run more smoothly and cover up stuff like a charm(Like Do em dirty, OTR hard to buff or your own stuff)  3 of 5 Stars!
