This new version of this mop is better after but when I first received it, I just took out the red piece from the inside and tried it, but it didn't write too good, so I tried taking out the mixing balls which were two small nuts instead of a regular ball prob so the paint can actually go through. Still, I did not want to write correctly, so I put them back in and shook it for a solid minute, and started writing better and better. So, all you gotta do when you get ur Dr Guts is just unscrew the nib and take out the red cap (so it doesn't spill during shipment) and screw the nib back on and shake hard so the paint isn't too thick.
