 1. In the Skate All Cities interview from 2013 you talked about the "writer’s lifestyle”, which is one of the best descriptions I've heard of the way writers live. Do you remember the turning point in your life, where you decided to put your chips all in with this graffiti thing, or a moment when you knew your life was never going to be the same again?
Living this lifestyle is something that happened naturally for me. When I was 15, me and 3 of my friends jumped in a red Chevy Spirit on a round trip from SF to Seattle. We did graffiti all along the coast. I left with $14 in my pocket and came back with $1,000, and as a kid that was a lot.
At the time, I didn’t think of it as a turning point, but in retrospect I think that the freedom I felt on that first trip set the pace for the rest of my life. For me, the writer’s lifestyle is superior to a conventional lifestyle. I have the freedom to go anywhere and do anything I want. The drawback is that there’s no safety net. I don’t have a plan B or a civilian career to fall back on.

2. What kind of advice do you have for the young writers out there?

1. Study the culture. Study the history of graffiti in your city and then the history of graffiti in America.
2. Writing will always be about letter structure. Everything else is either aerosol art or vandalism.
3. The internet isn’t real.

3. Are there any writers doing their thing right now that don't get as much shine as you think they deserve?
SUMO “SUEY” is forever ahead of the curve. He’s consistently painting but most people don’t know it because he’s not on social media. He’s your favorite internet writer’s favorite writer.

4. Tell us about your upcoming show with Art Primo and what's going on with that?

HAEL and DR. DAKS are two of my favorite painting partners, so I jumped at the chance to collaborate with them on a show.

5. Any last words or shout outs?

Thanks to Art Primo for the opportunity and shout out to the Green Ranger!!
