Questions (33)

Question: Hey, I'm a teacher and have wanted to get a refillable dry-erase marker. Will dry-erase ink work with this marker?

Thank you!

ArtPrimo: We have not tried that combo, sorry about that. If you do please let us know how it goes.

Question: what ink should be used with this, i cant find any marsh ink so im not really sure what to use anymore...
ArtPrimo: You can use this with a wide range of inks, but stay tuned- Marsh may be around sooner than you think...

Question: Is this thing still in production? Or should I cop one while I can
ArtPrimo: They are still in production, but not something we stock in large volumes- if you're interested, give one a shot!

Question: Do you still carry the chisel tip? Can't find it on here.
ArtPrimo: We do not currently have the chisel in stock, but shoot us an email [email protected], we can special order one for you if it's available.

Question: Can I use speed flow with this?
ArtPrimo: Yes, you can.

Question: Will alcohol based ink and pigmented inks ruin the nib? I've heard that from a friend but I've also heard of people using alcohol based and pigmented inks in this without fail
ArtPrimo: None that we know of. This is an industrial marker.

Question: now that real t grade isnt around anymore which ink should i use with... i heard alcohol based inks ruin the nibs on these.. thanks ap

Question: Can you draw thin and larger lines with the same marker? Hard to see from the video clip.
Thanks!
ArtPrimo: The bullet tip will have a consistent line, the chisel on the other hand you will be able to get a variety of line widths.

Question: I tried to run the marsh t grade through this but it wont flow out of the nib. Any tips?
ArtPrimo: They take a long time to break in. But once you do you have a pal for life.

Question: 3 questions:
How tightly do you screw on the nib?
How long does the nib take to break in?
Should I break in the nib simply by writing with it?
Thanks AP!
ArtPrimo: As with anything, make sure you screw this in all the way. If you leave gaps it may fall off or leak. Think Secure.

'Breaking In' is a matter of preference. If you like a crispy nib, then be gentle to it. If you want it frayed than write harder with it.

You can achieve a softer line by loosening the fibers of the nib in a number of ways. Heavy grit sandpaper or running it along concrete may do the trick.

Question: Why does my marker stop writing, I have to pump this marker and in the second letter stops writing,I fill it with smash ink.
ArtPrimo: Smash is made to go in that marker. So it's not the ink. Marsh 99 nibs take forever to break in. Once you do it will last forever.

Question: Are you guys ever going to get replacement nibs for these?
ArtPrimo: Yes we stock them. check the nibs page.

Question: i got some left over cool gray one for all ink u think it would go well with this marker ?
ArtPrimo: it might work. I wouldn't use it in that marker though

Question: i couldent find it in the info , how many ml or oz can it hold
ArtPrimo: It doenst really say. I would guess about 30-40ml

Question: standing up next to other markers what size compares to it? i need a marker that would fit in my pockets
ArtPrimo: Its long and skinny. It will fit in deep pockets.

Question: hey Ap, just wondering, would this marker be dope as hell with some etch or what? seems like a nice possibility to me.
if your gonna simply rip on me at least would etch flow through this
if not what would be the next most permanent mix of inks
t grade garvey
smash and garvey etc
respect
ArtPrimo: IDK about Etch. You should ask that on the forums. As for Garvey and marsh "Garsh" Yes it will work wonders.

Question: Hey so I lost mine for like 8 or 9 months and now the ink is all thick and crunchy. I know i need a new nib but how do i fix but i dont know what else. Could i send it to you guys and can you like refurbish it?
ArtPrimo: We dont do that, but Im sure if you emptied it and dipped it in Acetone you will get it going again. That and get a new nib on it.

Question: money shot mixed with garvey go good in this? and is it best to use marsh ink i dont wanna damage such a expensive marker haha
ArtPrimo: sound like fun you should try it. Its a metal marker you aren't going to damage it. Wost case scenario you might have to replace the nib but I doubt it. it will probably work

Question: moneyshot and garvey go sexy in marsh 99 marker?
ArtPrimo: yes

Question: can u refill it wit smash ink
ArtPrimo: yes
~SNAK~: I threw some smash clockwork orange in this, thinned it out very little with orange molotow transformer refill and it just flows smooth, nice color. and be careful with smash, leave it sitting, your going to be buyin a new nib for this bad boy and soaking the body in acetone for a whileI threw some smash clockwork orange in this, thinned it out very little with orange molotow transformer refill and it just flows smooth, nice color. and be careful with smash, leave it sitting, your going to be buyin a new nib for this bad boy and soaking the body in acetone for a while

Question: if i put the chisel nib on this with a marsh garvey mix would it be like a pilot and a ko had some sick spawn that is possably the best idea ever?
ArtPrimo: That would work great with the Chisel. yes.

Question: Dose smash black flow good with this, I just got 2 full tanks n i don't wanna have to get marsh just cuz this marker when I got plenty ink ?
ArtPrimo: Try the money shot for the best flow. A lot of people have used the Smash black in the 99s. Just be careful not to let it sit too long or the nib will dry up.

Question: Yo, I make pretty nasty inks that burn out the valves/springs in standard burner markers etc.... is this one going to hold up you think?
ArtPrimo: This marker is made to work with Marsh T Grade ink which is xylene based. Graffiti writers have been using this product for years. I am not sure what your putting in your nasty inks but I would be this marker is tough enough to handle it. If you do have any problems you can always replace the nib.

Question: YO AP!!!
When are you going to sell replacement nibs for this marker,ESPECIALLY the CHISE NIBS and the T-NIBS ??
ArtPrimo: sometimes we are out of stock

Question: Based on the pictures, this doesn't have a cap that goes over the nib.. Is there a cap, or do we have to just plastic baggy that sh*t?
ArtPrimo: there are two pictures of the cap in there
phobia: I think the problem is that you didn't put the cap on his little brain. He strained to much as it is you can't expect him to make the connection that the thing that is the same width would accautal go on the marker.I think the problem is that you didn't put the cap on his little brain. ArtPrimo: Whats Witches Brew? Must be some Super underground shit
~SNAK~: lol, haha i get it. thats some funny a** sh*tlol, haha i get it. thats some funny a** sh*t
~SNAK~: Wow ap haha, witches brew is like a ghetto krink ink but thicker and stains kinda like Garvey, when you get the jar and pull off the lid there's a dabbler in there (huge) to write with and it's like a jet black but fades with a brown tint(APREPLY) That went right over your head.Wow ap haha, witches brew is like a ghetto krink ink but thicker and stains kinda like Garvey, when you get the jar and pull off the lid there's a dabbler in there (huge) to write with and it's like a jet black but fades with a brown tint(APREPLY) That went right over your head.
