Caleb Aero at Dees!

Caleb went to Reno, that's chill. But check out the part where he goes to Dee's, now that's the Shiznit! Oh you don't know?!?! Well My boy, Dee's is the WORLDS preeminent graffiti shop and playground. Just picture it out in the high desert, in a sea of trailer homes and meth fueled lawn art. There lies an oasis of good peeps, acres of walls, hot rods and all the 19 year old strippers you could ever catch chlamydia from. That my friend is my Shangri-La and if it were only on the coast I would move in a trailer there. Get me a lil' stripper piece to push out about 7 kids while I spend my waning days drinking Crown royal with Joe Junior and staying up all night with Merv. I might be able to fit some graffiti in there somewhere....

Tacoma Mural Controversy

The Proposed Mural Rendering

Tacoma Mural Controversy
The Rialto Theater in Tacoma Washington is potentially getting a beautiful mural. The city is paying for the mural but some officials are against it. Fred King, The Landmark Preservation Commissioner, who voted again the proposed mural, says, "I'm troubled with the concept of graffiti as an art form," King said. “By superimposing graffiti art over another drawing, I'm concerned this would prompt other artists to paint over other buildings nearby in competition."

Eddie Sumlin of Fab-5, the organization that is involved with the creation of the mural responded by saying, "There's not going to be any competition," he said. "Us doing a commissioned mural has nothing to do with tagging; aerosol is just a medium."

Another clear misconception about murals, graffiti and art. Just because it's being done with spray paint, or the artists have a graffiti background, that shouldn't discredit it from being art.

The mural proposal is being voted on again in September.

Melbroune Graffiti Festival

Jeremt Stuff, Organizer of Don't Ban the Can

Don't Ban the Can
Jeremt Stuff is organizing a MONTH LONG graffiti festival in Melbourne. The festival was created in response to Melbourne's new anti-graffiti laws. City officials are nonsupporting of the event because they fear it will lead to graffiti on Melbourne's new train system. The month long graffiti festival will begin in January.

Don't Ban the Can is also responsible for setting up legal walls around Melbourne.
