Questions (10)

Question: Will these caps work with rustoleum's female Farm & Implement enamel cans? I utilize very specific machinery colors only readily available in that line and those caps clog quick. I tried some others, but they didn't seal and have made a mess, causing me to have to completely re-strip a hood and start all over.
Answer:(AP Reply)Hi there- Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that these caps will be compatible with those specific cans as we have not tested them together.
(Anonymous Says:) Just wanted to report back, gave these a shot and they fit the farm and implement cans very well! They are definitely better than the caps that come with the cans and cleared out nicely after my initial test. Question: When I try to use this cap on some ironlak , it just spills and makes a mess. Why does it not fit right ? Is the can messed up ? Or is the cap not suited for ironlak ?
Answer:(AP Reply)This cap is NOT compatible with Ironlak. Switch to a NYFat.

Question: are these really good for flares or are there better ones
Answer:(AP Reply)no. not a flare cap. Its a high volume filling cap. If your using Rusto then this is what you get. if you want flares then try some Old School Krylons or the Montana cans with a NYF
(Ma.destruction Says:) Some people aren't aware of this, but Krylon still makes female cans. The Metallic colors (chrome, copper, gold and stainless),and all the"specialty cans"are still female valve, you just gotta look for 'em.Some people aren't aware of this, but Krylon still makes female cans. The Metallic colors (chrome, copper, gold and stainless),and all the"specialty cans"are still female valve, you just gotta look for 'em.

Question: I am looking for spare tips for my shop. we use spray paint alot to paint over rusty appliances. We mainly use rustoleum paint and occasionally use other brands. These Rusto fatcap tips seem like exactly what I am looking for. Will they perform like the original caps? is the spray pattern different? Do they clog? What other tips would you recommend? We are currently going through about 4 tips per can of paint! They are used to paint small to medium areas then put up. They clog and the tip is done. If this tip is close enough to the original tip I would be interested in some reoccurring orders to keep my shop running.

Thank you,
Joe
Answer:(AP Reply)HI Joe. The Rusto Fat is a great cap. And it takes forever to clog. But it is not at all like the stock tip. It is a "fat cap" and will spray a high volume of paint. So if you're not prepared for it you might get some drips. but some quick practice on a scrap piece of wood should help you get your handles. Another great cap for your needs would be the New York Outline. It is also cheap and creates a finer line. Stay away from the New york fat caps because they arent really for that can and you are likely to get paint spurting from the valve. the same goes for most of those Euro style caps. They all tend to have narrower stems. The only exceptions would be the original German Outline and the Universal Outline. But for your needs the Rusto and NYO would be best. They are the cheapest cap on the site and will be fully compatible.
