Marsh 99 Marker Questions And Answers
now that real t grade isnt around anymore which ink should i use with... i heard alcohol based inks ruin the nibs on these.. thanks ap

Can you draw thin and larger lines with the same marker? Hard to see from the video clip.
Thanks!
ArtPrimo: The bullet tip will have a consistent line, the chisel on the other hand you will be able to get a variety of line widths.

I tried to run the marsh t grade through this but it wont flow out of the nib. Any tips?
ArtPrimo: They take a long time to break in. But once you do you have a pal for life.

3 questions:
How tightly do you screw on the nib?
How long does the nib take to break in?
Should I break in the nib simply by writing with it?
Thanks AP!
ArtPrimo: As with anything, make sure you screw this in all the way. If you leave gaps it may fall off or leak. Think Secure.

'Breaking In' is a matter of preference. If you like a crispy nib, then be gentle to it. If you want it frayed than write harder with it.

You can achieve a softer line by loosening the fibers of the nib in a number of ways. Heavy grit sandpaper or running it along concrete may do the trick.

Why does my marker stop writing, I have to pump this marker and in the second letter stops writing,I fill it with smash ink.
ArtPrimo: Smash is made to go in that marker. So it's not the ink. Marsh 99 nibs take forever to break in. Once you do it will last forever.
