Roamin' with this pen feels like I'm a few friends short of being in a Grog commercial. 5/5
My first impression was disappointing...I was trying to write on a mirror lmao
WILL NOT WRITE ON SMOOTH SURFACES, or at least not at its best. It seems the bearing needs some friction to spin and paint to stick: brick, concrete, and painted wood are my favs, but surfaces course as paper should get the job done.
The nib insert has a lip which makes it much easier to remove. OTR Soultip runs well, but should be seasoned with Magic Ink or Steve Garvey to taste. The plastic body is of a material such that paint dried to the outside flakes off. It is soft and easily squeezily.
If you're writing fast beware of drips-- beyond the normal painty wall drips-- quick strokes with too much squeeze can launch paint from the nib. When done writing, flick or smear paint remaining off the tip, and wipe clean while sneering, "that's vand***sm, baby".
Shouties to Johndee for recommending "Practice on he boxes you get from AP." saved my life. Such a unique writing experience! Amazing instrument for the price.
