Hi...we have on our grounds an important corten (aka, weathered) steel sculpture by Albert Paley. Last week, someone wrote f*ck Art! on it, using a broad-tipped white paint marker.
I have cleaned off most of it with the usual solvents...lacquer thinner mostly.
Is there any information you can give me on the chemistry of the paint or ink that may help me remove the paint that remains? I've reached a point of diminishing returns with my efforts, but I could succeed further if I understood what I was up against a bit better.
Any assistance you could provide would be most appreciated.
