The MOLOTOW GRAFX AQUA INK PUMP SOFTLINER is hands down the best blackbook marker I have ever used. To say that it writes smooth is the understatement of the century. The spongy paint-brushy nib makes it hella easy to whip out a rough sketch of your letters.
It's ability to fill in large spaces easily borders on magic. I felt like I was using a computer program, except with the
tactile sensation of putting pen to paper. Watching the color fill in produced the same feeling in my brain as filling in with a smooth fat cap on some spray-paint. Lines going back and forth, filling in the letters, super satisfying.
The ink drys super fast, and paint pens work extra well on top of it. The marker didnt seem to have any odour when I was using it, and it doesnt bleed through onto the next page at all.
Growing up, Prismacolors were the end-all, be-all of blackbook markers. To get some comparison I used a Prisma as well. After using the MOLOTOW pen I felt like I was stepping back into the Dark Ages. The Prisma was awkward and filled in kinda blotchy, also it bled to cover a larger area than I intended, which the MOLOTOW pen did not do.The prisma also bled through on to the next page a ton. While I wasn't displeased with the Prisma results, the difference was night and day.
One of the other things I liked about the MOLOTOW marker, is that the body is clear so you can see how much ink you have left, and when you run out, no big deal, the ink is refillable. Having some of these in your drawing box is mos def a must. The MOLOTOW AQUA INK PUMP SOFTLINER is the Cadillac of blackbook markers.
